Where is your office located?
Since 2021, I am now offering all sessions online. I’ve seen people in their cars, offices, homes, and even, on occasion, parks. While there are considerations on what might work for you, many people have found remote sessions to be a flexible option that has allowed them to fit therapy into their weekly routines far more accessibly. For more information, contact me, and I will be happy to discuss any questions you may have.
How often are sessions?
I typically schedule weekly or biweekly sessions initially (4-6 weeks), however, based on your ability, needs, and desires, we may decide more or less frequently works better for you after our work begins, and we have a better sense of one another. “Long term therapy” isn’t what everyone is wanting or for what they are looking. Also, based on my availability, I may only be able to offer biweekly (every other week) sessions initially, but we can always discuss increasing or decreasing our cadence based upon several factors.
How do i pay, How Much do I pay, and how long are sessions?
All payments are due the day of each session, and I integrate payments via credit cards on my online system, and your card will be automatically charged the night of our session. I see clients Mondays-Thursdays.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes long, and my rate is $200 per session. Longer sessions are sometimes an option based upon availability, need, and are prorated.
Sliding scale is sometimes available. Please ask about availability if and as needed.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance.
If you want to use your insurance, I am what is considered an "out of network provider" which means, that if you have a PPO plan, you can sometimes get reimbursement for our therapy sessions. Many insurance plans provide out-of-network mental health coverage. I recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about your out of network mental health benefits. Here is a guide to help you ask if your plan provides this coverage when you call.
I provide everyone with a monthly statement a.k.a. a "superbill" which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement discussed above, if you decide to seek reimbursement; there are pros and cons to doing this for most people, and I would be happy to discuss my experience on your consultation call.
If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or “flex account” through your employer, you may be able to receive reimbursement from that account.
There are many options for therapy, and affordability shouldn’t be the reason you don’t get support. If you are uninsured and need lower fee counseling, Open Path Therapy Collective is one place to start as well as the following which, unlike OpenPath, do not charge a one time application fee:
